transportation engineer (full time)

Minimum Qualifications

  At TENW, we look for candidates who have a desire to work hard and contribute to the mission TENW was founded on.  At a minimum, applicants must meet the following qualifications: 

  • ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelor’s or Master's)
  • 0-3 years' experience in the engineering field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months


Expectations of Duties

We currently have positions available in our Transportation Planning and Transportation Design teams.


Transportation Planning:  Duties will include traffic forecasting, traffic operations analysis of intersections and roadways, parking demand analysis, field reconnaissance to capture multi-modal conditions, and preparation of traffic impact studies, reports, and memos. Candidate will manage numerous tasks working with multiple teams and exhibit strong communication skills in technical writing and presentation of transportation analysis and recommendations. 


Transportation Design:  Duties will include preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and permit applications for projects including but not limited to traffic signals, roundabouts, illumination, roadway channelization, and signage. The candidate will also assist in performing construction administration duties including site visits, construction coordination meetings, and inspections. 


Desired Experience and Skills

  • Sound technical capabilities, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to balance production and efficiency with quality and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity or proficiency in computer software applications such as Bluebeam Revu,  AutoCAD, Excel, Word, OneNote, and MS Teams.
  • Ability to quickly learn new programs to perform other transportation planning and design tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


compensation and benefits

Compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually and is based on experience and applicable skills and/or education.
